Traveling with Kids !

The summer season has officially started, and I know that most of us are planing their travels. As adults we always get nervous before traveling and we keep planing so we won’t forget any document or a thing back home. So, if you are a mama with one kid or more I am sure that you dread traveling even more than before having kids. We worry if the kids will get tired, bored, hungry or even if they will make a scene or throw a tantrum during the flight !

Thats why I am sharing my top tips for traveling with kids, and how to keep them entertained and occupied until you reach the desired destination.

First things first, always plan and prepare everything before one month of your trip, specially your kids needs and belongings.

Always prepare your kids by telling them about their travel journey, what to expect, what to do on an airplane, usually with small kids reading stories works best with them.

Before one day of your travel day, prepare everything that you might use or need during the airport and the airplane, let the kids pack their backpacks and prepare their clothes.

On the travel day arrive early to the airport to avoid long queues and to finish all your procedures early, because you never know what to expect at the airport. And if you finish everything before your flight time, go enjoy a cup of coffee and hot chocolate with the kids or shop from the duty free.

When on the plane always take it easy ! When you find your seats, let the kids explore their surroundings before the airplane takes off. let them play with the screen or explore the movies. Don’t take out all their toys, coloring book or activities at once, just wait until they get bored and give them one thing at a time. This way you can keep them occupied for longer time.

Always give the kids their meal or milk before going to the airport (because hungry kids means fussy kids !) , also during the flight offer them their meal or their favorite snacks.

Don’t forget to stay hydrated both of you, and to move your feet 😉

At the end, don’t pressure yourself to keep your kids busy or well behaved during the flight, they are kids and they might get tired, overwhelmed, fussy and thats fine ! Take it easy mama, breath and take care of yourself.

Wishing you a safe flight and a holiday packed with fun and beautiful memories 🙂
